Forget GoogleBot - Here comes GoogleBay!

Wired answers the question if Google is really gunning for eBay.

“Google’s M.O. is always to deny that they’re competing with anyone head-on,” says Sucharita Mulpuru, an e-commerce analyst with Forrester. “It’s a natural inclination for them to say that they’re in their own league, but since they are about to become a marketplace for buying items, they’re encroaching on this category.”

Even if Google really isn’t directly gunning for eBay they will inevitably end up in competition. So forget GoogleBot, think GoogleBay. Google Earth is old news. How’s about Google Universe?

Obviously Google is familiar with the old maxim “Knowledge is Power” and they intend to wield it. See for yourself, Google = 666.
